Abe
Adopted OCTOBER 2020!
Abe’s Story:
This handsome gentleman was rescued with his littermate (whom we named Oakley) after a good samaritan found the two running loose in the city of Highland, CA. At approximately 2-3 years old, Abe and Oakley were both very friendly and social dogs. They both appear to be purebred Cocker Spaniels and had likely come from a breeder.
Both boys were found in need of cherry eye surgery, which is necessary to protect their eye health and future vision, and neither of them had previously been microchipped or neutered. Sadly, this is very common in rescue dogs because, for one reason or another, they were not provided with proper care prior to ending up in the shelters. After weeks of no one claiming these cuties from the Devore Animal Shelter, Camp Cocker went to work to find them the best new homes possible. Though they are both very nice dogs, Abe and Oakley had to be adopted out separately due to their severe littermate syndrome (also knows as Sibling Aggression).
Now named Wally, his parents report that he is settling in quite well. He is such a sweet and loving dog. He is also super smart and learned his new name quickly! He loves to cuddle with his new Cocker Spaniel brother, Leo, and enjoys napping in the warm sun.
