April
Adopted MAY 2020!
April’s Story:
This sweet mama dog was rescued in April 2020 when she and two of her pups were picked up as strays. The little family had been found by some good samaritans by the side of a busy roadway hiding under a tree from the rain. When no one claimed them from the shelter, Camp Cocker was able to take them into our care. Her puppies (Jewel & Blake), who were estimated to be about 10 weeks of age at the time, both had Giardia but were easily treated and found to be otherwise healthy. April, estimated to be about a year and a half old, had to be treated for heartworm. She is very gentle and super sweet!
This curious little lady, now named Fig, loves living it up at the dog beach and is getting more confident every day. Her adopter tells us that she’s a total lover and is very social when she feels safe. Fig loves to give kisses and be near her people. Her dislikes include peanut butter, bananas, carrots, and not being close to Mom. She is a squirrel-obsessed, clever dog who quickly figured out how to get the goods out of a frozen kong by throwing it down the deck stairs to the backyard. What a smart girl!
Fig’s adopter shares: “She’s obviously a prodigy! I'm signing her up to study physics at Berkeley as soon as she graduates from her Zoom leash walking class.”
