Betty’s story begins here . . . on Sunday, 2/11/24
A Good Samaritan in Victorville reached out to us for help! After noticing a stray Cocker mix wander through her neighborhood for a few days, she took her in on Sunday only to discover that she was pregnant!
WE QUICKLY RALLIED A VOLUNTEER TO HELP US, AND SHE MADE THE 4 HOUR TRIP TO RETRIEVE THIS MAMA DOG IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! WE NAMED THIS SWEET GIRL BETTY, AND SET HER UP WITH A SAFE SPACE TO GIVE BIRTH, WHICH LOOKED LIKE IT COULD HAPPEN SOON! WE NOTIFIED OUR VETERINARIANS ABOUT BETTY’S ARRIVAL SO THAT THEY COULD ADVISE US IF ANY PROBLEMS WERE TO ARISE.

On Tuesday, 2/20, our hearts were broken 💔 when puppy Floyd crossed the rainbow bridge 😥
We’re extremely sad to report the passing of the smallest, and last, puppy born to Betty on Sunday. Puppy Floyd weighed significantly less than most of his littermates and appears to have suffered from a failure to thrive, despite our best efforts to assist him.
Our hearts ache for Betty, and the Camp Cocker community at large as we all come to terms with this loss. Thank you for the support and well wishes you sent our way on social media. We send ours right back to you! ❤️
