Betty

Adopted APRIL 2024!

Betty’s Story:

Beautiful Betty was found wandering the streets of Victorville, CA by a Good Samaritan who said she’d been a stray in the area for at least a week. She was pregnant and appeared to be due any day! One of our dedicated volunteers drove four hours to go pick her up for us, then we waited for her two week stray hold to be up at the shelter she was reported to. Betty did not have a microchip and no one ever contacted the shelter to claim her. Exactly one week after her rescue, this sweet spaniel gave birth to six gorgeous puppies. Betty was the best mama to them! Sadly, despite our best efforts, tiny baby Floyd did not make it due to failure to thrive, but Ralph, Lolly, Hugo, Maeve, and Roxie are all strong, healthy pups. Estimated to be 5-7 years old, Betty is a fantastic dog; she’s smart, affectionate, and was even fully potty trained.

Once she finished nursing her pups, mama Betty was adopted by some past Camp Cocker adopters living in Las Vegas, NV who tell us she is doing great there and is growing in confidence as each day passes. She enjoys their daily walks (her favorite spot to visit is a grassy area right across the street from their home) and patrolling the backyard every time she goes out. Betty also loves napping in her dog beds and spending lots of time with her parents. This sweetheart is bringing much joy to her family and they tell us that she seems very happy, is very funny, confident in herself, and a smarty pants with a big personality!

Betty’s dreams of being an indoor family member have finally been answered. She loves her nice, quiet home and we couldn't be more thrilled for her. She deserves it!

From Betty’s adopters: “We wanted to send you a couple of recent pictures of Betty who is living her best life!  She absolutely loves her daily walks, hanging out chill’in, and loves to gecko hunt anytime she can sneak it in!  She is hilarious, and as you always said, she really is so special; we just love her!”
