Bixby
Adopted DECEMBER 2020!
Bixby’s Story:
Darling little Bixby was rescued from the South Los Angeles Animal Shelter in August 2020. Around 1-2 years old and weighing only 9 pounds, this sweet chihuahua mix had been hit by a car and was suffering from a broken pelvis. Despite the pain he must have been in, he was still wagging his tail happily when we pulled him from the shelter. This sweetheart just broke our hearts.
Bixby was taken directly to an emergency vet where they repaired his injuries and implanted various plates and pins for the ten different fractures he’d sustained. After completing weeks of crate rest, Bixby began a rigorous physical therapy routine at Two Hands Four Paws, where he visited twice weekly until he recovered.
This shy, snuggly little boy is now named Squid! His new parents absolutely adore him and say he seems to be getting more comfortable with them by the minute. He is very good about sleeping through the night and enjoys taking long walks with them, where he wants to meet every person and dog in the neighborhood. He also enjoys playing fetch and sunbathing on the patio. Silly Squid likes to burrow and wrap himself up in blankets, and absolutely loves cuddling with his adopters every chance he gets.
