Bodhi’s Story:

Bodhi the Beagle was one of our Freedom Flyers in May 2019. Most of our Freedom Flyers are rescued from shelters in South Korea, but Bodhi was one of the rare dogs that came to us from a dog meat farm. We are so thankful to our rescue partners at K9 Korean Rescue for saving him. Aged between 5-6 years old, it is unlikely that Bodhi had ever known what it was like to live indoors before. He had to have a dental with lots of teeth extractions when Camp Cocker rescued him. He also has a grade four (out of six) heart murmur and a degenerative leaky mitral valve.

Bodhi now gets all the medical attention he needs and has an adopter who absolutely adores him. He is a gentle dog who easily gets attached to people. He’s very affectionate, generally quiet, and loves belly rubs! He’s very intelligent, too, and loves puzzles, toys and kongs. His new mom enjoys taking Bodhi hiking and is happy to fill his daily belly scratching quota. She says he is a very happy dog who is as sweet as can be. Bodhi likes napping in the sunshine and running in freshly cut grass (which turns his white feet green!).

Bodhi has blossomed into such a confident doggy! He is playful and inquisitive with dogs he used to be scared by, and snoozes when his parents leave the house instead of exhibiting separation anxiety. He loves his alone time napping and basking in the sun. Bodhi spends his days chewing on bones, snoozing in front of the AC, sniffing around the backyard, and happily going on walks around the neighborhood.

From Bodhi’s adopter: “Thank you for bringing Bodhi and I together… I love sharing firsts and spoiling this sweet boy! We are so grateful for you and all you do!”
