Bonnie
Adopted MARCH 2023!
Bonnie’s Story:
Beautiful Bonnie had been rescued from a puppy mill in South Korea and was one of eleven dogs that Camp Cocker committed to taking from there. These poor dogs were living in incredibly cruel conditions and had all been debarked by the breeder. How heartbreaking. Bonnie was flown to Los Angeles, CA in November 2022 as part of our Freedom Flight program and, despite her sad history, has the loveliest personality! She is such a sweetheart with everyone she meets, including other dogs and even cats. At about 10 years old, she’s still very playful and loves getting attention. Unfortunately, like most of these puppy mill dogs, she struggled with her potty training. Until now, she’d only known life in a cramped cage. Bonnie also needed to have eight teeth extracted during her dental and was already missing several others.
Now named Mimi, her adopters flew all the way from British Columbia to pick up their precious new family member. They were so excited to meet this little angel, who adjusted to her new life right from the first day. Mimi loves to play with her toys and will stare at them intently when she’d like one thrown for her. Mimi really loves snuggles, too, and always wants kisses before bedtime. She and her new terrier brother, Spank, get along very well; a surprise to their parents considering Spank does not usually like other dogs! They tell us that Mimi enjoys jumping and running all around their house - spreading her newfound joy along the way.
Mimi plays ball in the backyard every day. After a few weeks, she learned to bring the ball back and put it on the ground near them to wait for another throw. She also walks to the door now to communicate when she needs to go out to potty. We’re so proud of her! Mimi’s parents like to take her everywhere with them, even to the bank, restaurants sitting on patios, and to shopping malls where she politely sits in a stroller with Spank.
