Chip

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2023!

Chip’s Story:

Chip was rescued from the North Central Animal Shelter in June 2023, along with his 11-pound mother, Cookie, and four siblings. The family had been discovered living under a dumpster behind a dental office. Chip and his brothers, Walnut, Graham, Butterscotch and Peanut were only a few days old at the time. Cookie was such a good mama to them! A DNA test done on Chip’s brother, Walnut (whom he closely resembles), revealed that the three fluffier boys are likely part poodle, pekingese, shih tzu, miniature schnauzer, maltese, and more! They had a different father than the other two, less fluffy, brothers who had different DNA results. Little Chip has a brown spot on the top of his head that kind of resembles a chocolate chip!

Now named Mochi, his new mama says he is doing great! He’s taking to the leash, has had a few socialization activities, and is doing well being crate trained. He even found a new favorite spot to lay, on the bottom shelf of a bookcase she’d emptied out when puppy proofing her home. Baby Mochi is very loving and affectionate, but can also be rowdy and rambunctious. He isn’t a fan of his playpen unless the door is open and he can come and go as he pleases, and he makes it known. He is still adjusting to the world around him and sometimes barks and growls at other dogs when he’s feeling overstimulated. His adopter is excited to begin puppy pre-k with him, which starts with puppy socialization! This cutie spends lots of time by his mom, playing or taking naps.
