Chris
Adopted DECEMBER 2022!
Chris’s Story:
Charming Chris had been rescued from a puppy mill in South Korea and was one of eleven dogs that Camp Cocker had committed to taking from there. Chris flew to America in November 2022 as part of our Freedom Flight program, along with another cocker spaniel named Brownie. All of the dogs had been debarked by the breeder, an incredibly cruel and painful procedure that strips them of their ability to vocalize and communicate and can lead to issues like coughing and trouble swallowing. Despite his sad history, Chris was so sweet and snuggly and just wanted love and affection from people. The filthy caged conditions that he had been suffering in would be just as common for an American puppy mill, this one just happened to be in Korea.
Lovingly renamed Gnocchi, he loves to go for walks with his mom. At first he seemed a little hesitant and she thought perhaps he was waiting for a command, but now he’s ready to go whenever she says “lets go!” They have a routine that includes an early home-cooked breakfast, laying in his mom’s office while she does her morning meditation, then taking a 1.5 mile walk together that he really enjoys because he gets to visit new friends! Then it’s time for a hair brush and rest. He and his mom play a lot during the day with the many toys he has in his toy box - he loves having them all out at once. He also likes to help with chores and yard work! Gnocchi gets daily ear medications and eye care, and has his hair brushed and has his paws rubbed and nose treated with a softener each night.
Gnocchi is very happy and comfortable in his new home and his parents tell us there didn’t seem to be much of a transition period at all. He gets super excited when they return home, is a great passenger in the car, and simply likes to follow them around wherever they go. He is a happy puppy with full run of the downstairs house!
From Gnocchi’s adopters: “We really love Gnocchi and are blessed to have him.”
