Copper
Adopted JULY 2020!
Copper’s Story:
This cutie pie was rescued from the San Bernardino Animal Shelter in May 2020 after he’d been picked up as a stray. Shortly after his rescue, Copper had cherry eye surgery done on his left eye, but the surgery ended up failing because his eyeball was abnormally too small to keep the cherry eye gland in place.
Due to Copper's Globe Atrophy, he was permanently non-visual in that eye. The ophthalmologist told us that he was going to be prone to conjuctivitis and debris, and that discharge would continue to collect inside of his eye lids because they did not open properly. They determined that it would be best for him to have the eye removed, so he is now an official member of the "One-Eyed Wigglebutt Club!"
After having his eye enucleation surgery done in July, Copper was officially adopted and is now named Finn! Finn is sweet, playful, and smart. He likes sitting on his mom’s lap while she works and, despite having his left eye removed, he doesn’t miss a beat. He loves chasing the ball, playing hide-and-seek and nibbling on toes. He also enjoys picking up magnolia leaves the size of his head and prancing along with them.
