Duke
Adopted JANUARY 2020!
Duke’s Story:
This sweet Cocker Spaniel was relinquished to us by his previous owners at the age of 9 years old. He had been in the Carson Los Angeles County Animal Shelter in August 2017 and was a matted mess, with bad skin and long untreated ear infections. Duke was adopted by someone from the general public, but as well meaning as they were, they didn't understand that Cockers are a high maintenance breed that can have chronic ear and skin problems. Duke's former owners relinquished him to Camp Cocker Rescue in June 2019 and we were grateful that we could get him a fresh start.
Duke now lives in the best possible forever home with an adopter who is head over heels in love with him. His family calls him Chenzie, and boy do they adore him. They also refer to him as “the best dog ever,“ “the most beautiful dog in the world,” and their “sweet, darling, brilliant, funny boy.” Chenzie is very healthy and he and his mom enjoy 3 mile long walks together every evening. He is always a cheerful little gentleman with absolutely no behavior problems, and has even been a favorite attendee at Zoom and FaceTime get-togethers with family and friends.
From Chenzie’s adopter: “I’ve had dogs all my life and loved them all dearly, but Chenzie is extra-extra special. My thanks to all of you at Camp Cocker, and especially his foster parents, for rescuing and caring for this very special little guy.”
