Gabby
Adopted APRIL 2021!
Gabby’s Story:
Gorgeous Gabby joined Camp Cocker in December 2020 as part of our Freedom Flight Rescue program. Thanks to our rescue partners at Korean K9 Rescue, this 6 to 8-year-old beagle lady was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea and given the opportunity to live a long, happy life here in America! We aren’t certain, but we suspect that Gabby’s travel companions (puppies Davey, Archie, Sooni, Silver and Gold) may be her children.
Now named Murfie (aka BooBoo), she loves napping, working for treats, and taking walks through the neighborhood with her new mama. She really enjoys sniffing and exploring, following her beagle nose wherever it takes her! People always comment on how happy she looks because she is so excited on walks. She’s just so happy to be outside seeing and smelling new things! Murfie is super sweet with people but occasionally has some leash reactivity towards other dogs if she doesn't know them. She and her mom are working on that using positive reinforcement training.
As Murfie adjusts to her new home, she has started reacting to the neighborhood “noises” - whether in the yard or indoors, she will stop, listen, and then turn her head to the side before continuing with the task at hand. She also takes her job of “guarding” the house very seriously, and lets it be known to all that a Beagler is on the job! Murfie is curious, learns quickly, and always greets her mom with a smile and a wagging tail.
From Murfie’s adopter: “I can’t imagine life without my Beautiful Beagle Girl!”
