Harry
Adopted FEBRUARY 2023!
Harry’s Story:
Handsome Harry was about 6-8 years old when he joined Camp Cocker Rescue in December 2022. He had been rescued from a puppy mill closure in South Korea and flew to America as part of our Freedom Flight program. This sweet guy is very friendly with everyone he meets, including people, dogs, and even cats! He struggled a little with his potty training, due to living his entire life up to now in a cage. The filthy caged conditions that Harry and his friends had been suffering in would be just as common for an American puppy mill, this one just happened to be in Korea. Sadly, because the breeder had also debarked all of the dogs, Harry had scar tissue in his throat that caused a tonsillar lymphoid polyp to form. It was removed and, thankfully, a biopsy revealed that is was benign. He was also treated for ear infections and, like all cocker spaniels, will need regular ear cleanings and ongoing ear maintenance.
Now named Henry, this fluffy gentleman is loving life with his new family! His mom had flown to Los Angeles, CA to pick him up, very excited to meet him and get him back home to Oregon. On his very first night in the home, Henry slept through the night and pottied outside. He also got to see snow for the first time! Henry basically ignores his cat sister, Georgia, and sleeps side by side with her and their mom at night. What a good boy! Henry is an energetic dog and he loves playing with tennis balls and taking long walks around the neighborhood and through the beautiful hiking trails near their home. He also gets very excited about car rides and is an excellent passenger! His adopter tells us he’s doing remarkably well. He is confident, gentle, and quite charming. Whenever his mom has to leave the house for a while, she gets the most amazing welcome home when she returns!
From Henry’s adopter: “I'm completely smitten with him. He is an absolute delight, and I already am completely in love.”
