Janay
Adopted NOVEMBER 2022!
Janay’s Story:
Beautiful brittany spaniel, Janay, was rescued from an animal shelter on Jeju Island in South Korea and flew to America in April 2022 as part of our Freedom Flight program. Janay had an injury on her rear left ankle when she was first rescued, so Camp Cocker sponsored a surgery to save her leg (the original vet that saw her wanted to amputate). While she did have some atrophy in that leg following the surgery, we took Janay to physical therapy for a few months and she’s now strong and feeling great! Janay will simply need joint pain management for life for what might be compared to managing arthritis.
This enthusiastic girl, estimated to be about 2-5 years old, had a lot of puppy energy and charmed everyone with her winsome manner and desire to make friends. Janay simply can’t contain her happiness and will often jump up on people and furniture and vocalize her excitement loudly. She loves to be loved and to show her love. She is very affectionate and craves human attention; she is the definition of a velcro dog. Finding the right home for Janay proved to be a challenge because her personality is a bit “too much" for some.
Janay is settling in astonishingly well with her new mom, who says she is absolutely perfect! Janay has not had one accident in the house, nor done any crying at all. She is making fast friends with Andy the cat, and seems to be very happy with the house, yard and routine. It snows where they live, so a friend knitted a nice, warm sweater for Janay to wear in the winter. She and her mom enjoy hiking around their property together during the day and cuddling up close at night. Janay loves to play and snuggle with Andy, too!
From Janay’s adopter: “I absolutely adore her and am eternally grateful to Camp Cocker for trusting me to be her forever Mom... I love her very much.”
