Lake
Adopted APRIL 2021!
Lake’s Story:
This gray-faced beauty was rescued from the Wildomar Animal Shelter in March 2021. At 14 years old, this beautiful Cocker Spaniel had been turned in to the shelter by her previous owners due to financial hardship after a job loss. She is very sweet and friendly but had some serious medical issues that needed to be addressed. Lake had some large masses on her body, as well as several warty growths, back pain and hunching of her back, and she desperately needed a dental. Lake was diagnosed with multilevel intervertebral disc disease and put on pain meds and anti-inflammatories. We also had an enormous mass removed from above Lake’s anus and were so relieved when the biopsy results came back negative for cancer!
Now named Gigi, her family reports that she is doing great and is quickly getting in step with her new doggy siblings, Button and Jazzy! Gigi is a sweetheart and is super smart. She’s also a foodie, but her parents are careful to keep her weight in check, especially with her back issues. Gigi is a good sleeper and an overall good girl. When she’s awake, though, her family says she’s like a firecracker and walks great! She likes keeping an eye on her mom as she meal preps, and her adopters were thrilled when she decided to sleep in the bedroom with them! They love her so much.
There’s something truly special about these senior rescues. Despite her previous neglect, Gigi is full of love and affection and an adventurous spirit.
