Linus

Adopted NOVEMBER 2022!

Linus’ Story:

This adorable freckle-faced cocker spaniel was rescued from the Riverside County Animal Shelter in September 2022 after he’d been relinquished by his previous owner. Estimated to be as old as 5 years, he had lots of energy and still acted like a puppy! He was incredibly friendly but very underweight, his fur had lots of mats in it, and he was anemic due to flea infestation. Flea infestations can actually kill a dog from the red blood cell loss. Thankfully, we’d rescued Linus before he was in need of a blood transfusion. He got a flea bath and flea meds and will only know life as a clean indoor dog from now on!

Linus is now known as Lemon, as his parents say he is fascinated by the hanging lemons on their tree. He has gained a little weight and really loves to eat. He quickly figured out the doggie door and runs in and out of the house all day long. Their other two pups, Bee and Turbo, are beginning to understand how to deal with Lemon's high energy in the mornings; although, he is actually calming down a bit. It seems that boundaries have been established and they're all sharing toys and resources. In fact, Bee is Lemon’s new best friend! They run outside together to investigate every truck, helicopter, motorcycle, and neighborhood noise. Lemon loves to run around the yard at full speed having fun, enjoys going for walks, and wags his tail when meeting new people.

Lemon’s family says he has done all the right things and has made great progress. He is very good about going to the bathroom outside and sleeping through the night. He owns the house already, which had to be Lemon-proofed because he gets into everything! He is a sweet little guy who just keeps getting sweeter. Their vet thinks that Lemon has a BB lodged in his left leg, but it's not a concern at the moment as it does not seem to be bothering him. He is full of energy and love. He is very affectionate and loves to get lots of petting and kisses. He likes to follow his people around the house whenever they go, and they love it! Lemon simply can't contain his excitement about life most of the time and they're just happy to see him happy.

From Lemon’s adopters “He's such a sweet little guy. We're very proud of him.
