WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE LORETTA!

  • Camp Cocker rescued Loretta from the Los Angeles North Central Animal Shelter on August 4, 2022.

  • Loretta had been dropped off at a veterinary hospital by a Good Samaritan. Her history is unknown.

  • Loretta’s shelter paperwork listed her as about 14 years old. But since we pulled her from the shelter, we’ve found a microchip that indicates she’s between 8 1/2 and 9 years old.

  • She’s very sweet, playful, and loves cuddling! She gets along well with people and other dogs. She’s blind, and somewhat hearing impaired.

  • Loretta has just been seen by one of our vets, and he says that other than the removal of mammary tumors and a dental cleaning “she’s a very nice and healthy patient!”

  • Surgical update: Loretta’s mammary tumor biopsies came back negative. She’s cancer-free, and you can see how well her dental went!

  • Loretta was seen by our ophthalmologist on 8/26. She has right eye glaucoma, and dry eye in the left - both of which are being treated with the appropriate medications, and good eye pressures are being maintained. She is blind in both eyes, but has some minimal light perception in the left eye.

  • Ophthalmology UPDATE: Loretta had her re-check on 9/21, and the Ophthalmologist says everything looks stable. Eye meds in both eyes are to be continued, and she should have a re-check in four to five months.

  • Loretta is in the Los Angeles area.
