WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE LUIGI!

• Luigi is a charming little black male, possibly a Cairn Terrier Mix, who weighs 11 pounds and is estimated to be about 8 years old. Luigi was rescued from the Kern County Animal Shelter in Bakersfield, CA.

• Sweet Luigi has been in his foster home for 3 months now, and has come a long way since he first arrived at Camp Cocker! He still becomes very nervous when he encounters people, places and things he doesn’t know. But he’s a lovable little guy who will be a wonderful companion to the right adopter!

• Luigi is definitely a couch potato. For as long as you’re on the couch, he’s going to be right there with you! As for visitors - he will bark and hide when they arrive, but once they settle down in one spot, Luigi will warm up to them too.

• Luigi is not a fan of having a lot of activity going on around him, so in order to win his affections you’ll need to create a calm quiet space - like the couch - for him to relax with you.

• As for snuggling, he is super, super snuggly! He will snuggle ‘til your heart’s content - as long as you are in his comfortable space!

• Luigi is good around dogs, and also his foster-sibling-cat. He loves the company of other dogs and takes great comfort in being near them.

• He does not like walks, even with his dog-siblings, and is frightened by people, places and things around him. He does like to be carried, and asks to be picked up!

• Luigi is most comfortable with routine - it helps him to feel secure. He also loves treats.

• Luigi will do best in a quiet household in a quiet neighborhood, in a house with a yard or outdoor space (so that he doesn’t have to encounter strangers when he needs to potty). Another confident dog that he can buddy up with, and from whom he can take his cues, would be ideal for him.

• Luigi is being fostered in the Los Angeles area.
