Miles

Adopted FEBRUARY 2022!

Miles’ Story:

Adorable, shaggy, terrier mix Miles was rescued in December 2020 when he was 6 or 7 years old. He flew to America as one of our Freedom Flyers from South Korea and, although he was very sweet, he was extremely shy and had some fear issues that prevented him from being adopted for quite some time. Miles was so scared of new people, especially men, and originally didn’t even enjoy going outside to potty. His foster family worked with him for a long time on gentle socialization and confidence building. Miles came such a long way in their care, but needed a quiet home with an adopter who would understand his needs. He could be held and picked up without any issue (he weighs only 24 pounds), but he’s very independent and his future family would need to be prepared for him to need his space. Miles was also diagnosed with mitral valve disease and a grade II to III heart murmur.

Now named Milo, he is still a homebody and doesn’t really like to travel or visit public places, but he LOVES going on long walks and exploring his new neighborhood! He enjoys stopping to sniff (and mark) to his heart’s content. He is good with other dogs, but he doesn't try to play with them, and isn’t too interested in toys or treats. Milo gets along great with his new cat roommate, Junie, and seems increasingly comfortable with his adopter and her friends. He is so happy going on longer hikes, and his mom is looking forward to many more of those as the weather warms. Boy, do we love a happy ending!
