WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE MILKY!
Milky is a Freedom Flyer from South Korea.
Milky is estimated* to be a 6-8 year-old, 19 pound, female Cocker Spaniel, and is described by her South Korean rescuers as lovely and sweet!
Milky’s foster mom describes her as a sweet, darling girl! She’s friendly with people and other dogs. She likes to be near her people when they are around, but seems to settle in peacefully when she’s at home alone.
7/2/23 UPDATE - Camp Cocker is offering to sponsor training to help Milky overcome her potty training issues once she’s been adopted & in her new environment! We’ve had some productive discussions with trainer Shannon Riley-Coyner at www.trulyforcefree.com who will provide online training & assistance.
Milky’s biggest challenge has been potty training. She often passes up opportunities to potty when she goes outdoors via the doggie door, and then potties indoors within a few minutes of coming inside. She can hold her potty very well, so it almost seems as if she wants to leave her scent indoors! Potty issues are not uncommon amongst dogs that have spent so much of their lives in crates or cages.
3/18/23 UPDATE - Milky saw a cardiologist today. She has a grade three heart murmur and has been diagnosed with very mild mitral valve disease - with a projected life expectancy of 6.5 to 7 years (this is based on her heart condition only).
Milky does not need heart medication at this time. She will need annual cardiologist rechecks to proactively stay on top of when and if she may one day need to start meds.
Milky is being fostered in the Los Angeles area
