Nelson

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2019!

Nelson’s Story:

Tall, dark, and handsome, we found Nelson at the Apple Valley shelter in April 2019 after he had been adopted by someone from the general public and then returned - twice! He was fearful of strangers and had separation anxiety. His ears were infected and his right ear was so painful that the shelter couldn’t even touch it. Poor guy. This beautiful six-year-old cocker spaniel is super affectionate and loves belly rubs. He is also a big goofball!

It’s hard to believe that such an amazing dog would end up in the shelter three times, but it happens every day and it’s heartbreaking. Camp Cocker was honored to be given the opportunity to get Nelson out of there, have him properly vetted like he deserved, and to go to a well-screened home with adopters that were prepared for the commitment of what a Cocker Spaniel requires.

Nelson is so very loved in his new home. He’s a snuggly little teddy bear. He loves to play, especially with tennis balls, and is such a good boy. He sleeps on his mom’s bed each night and enjoys taking long walks with her through the neighborhood. His adopter is glad to patiently help Nelson build his confidence and give him lots and lots of love.
