NUGGET HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!

• Nugget is a dachshund mix, a 10 pound male puppy, estimated to be about 6 months old!

• Nugget was rescued on Thursday, July 29, from the Bakersfield Shelter - as a stray with injury, which the xrays revealed to be a fractured femur.

• Camp Cocker immediately drove Nugget to the VCA WLA for surgery, which took place the next day. It was a long, complex surgery, but Nugget came through with flying colors! He even received a Certificate of Bravery for “great courage” during his hospitalization!

• Nugget had a foster mom already waiting for him - and he was picked up today, August 2, from the hospital to go to his new foster home.

• Nugget is a sweet and trusting boy. He is such a little trooper, and already walking a little bit on his newly repaired leg! He will be spending a few days recovering from his surgery while we take applications for adoption.

• Nugget will need ongoing physical therapy for several weeks (physical therapy will be sponsored by Camp Cocker) so we’ll be looking for adopters in the Los Angeles area who will be able to continue his therapy regimen.
