Owen came from the Baldwin Park/Los Angeles shelter in July of 2012. He had cherry eye and needed to have knee surgery. All of Owen's needs were met here at Camp Cocker Rescue through the donations of many generous people. Owen has the most adorable under-bite in all of Los Angeles County! He is a handsome red & white cocker spaniel who is about 5 years old!
During the day he is an avid reader and has read all the classics....
...but at night he likes to party ;-)
Even though he is quite the intellectual, we are all Works-In-Progress and Owen does have trust issues that he has been working on for awhile now. We think Owen suffered a lot of physical abuse. For example, he does not like to be touched at all, especially if he is lying down and sleeping. He needs his alone time just as much as we do. If he does want you to scratch his head he will let you know by nudging you on the leg like a cat.
Owen would be great for a special adopter who has a lot of dog experience, and can handle the challenges of working with him. Or an adopter who does not need a "cuddle buddy". It would also be great if his adopter was a photographer and needed to add Dog Portraits to their portfolio! He is very photogenic and patient.
Some of Owen's daily activities include: internet research and online banking ;-)
If this was Owen's dating profile on WoofMatch he would probably list all the things he loves to do like: long walks on the beach, napping by himself, waiting patiently for treats by hand, meeting new friends, chasing squirrels running on the power-lines, dressing up and getting his picture taken, and watching Sherlock Holmes. Here he is, dressed up like a detective in London sniffing out ALL the leads. .
