Pepper
Adopted JUNE 2023!
Pepper’s Story:
This gorgeous spaniel mix flew to Los Angeles, CA from Mongolia as part of our Freedom Flight program in May 2023. He’d been a stray in Ulaanbaatar and spent several months at the Huurhun Zulzaga animal shelter, living in a small pen of dogs his size, mostly other cocker spaniels. Pepper is young, maybe 2 or 3 years old, and is quite the charmer! He loves to play with other dogs, but they often don’t enjoy playing with him because he plays rough, getting a dog’s attention by nipping at their coat or pulling on their ears. Pepper also likes to play with toys and he is super sweet and snuggly with people.
His new parents tell us that they’ve all been having a howling good time since his adoption! Pun intended… his new name is Howl, after a character from their favorite book/movie. He’s been a wonderful addition to their family. He’s settling in well in his new home and enjoying an abundance of new tennis balls, chew toys, blankies, a big ol couch, an entire park, and all the love and snuggles and cuddles he can handle. They absolutely adore him! His moms say he’s incredibly sweet and bright and quickly adjusted to their routine. Within just a few days Howl was already demonstrating a good grasp of sit, stay, down, fetch, and drop it - they’re amazed! They are now working on his recall, threshold safety, and leash manners. His favorite toys are anything squeaky, anything chewy, and soccer balls! But by far his favorite thing to do is join his parents on the couch and sprawl in their laps for snuggles. They tell us it’s been incredibly healing to have him in their lives - puppy snuggles soothe the soul.
From Howl’s adopters: “He’s been an absolute delight and we’re so grateful you’ve entrusted him with us!”
