Petey
Adopted JULY 2020!
Petey’s Story:
This adorable little boy, estimated to be between 1 to 3 years old, was picked up by Riverside Animal Control after he’d been abandoned at a 76 gas station in May 2020, along with another Camp Cocker Rescue dog (who we believe is his brother) named Loki. Petey had several fractures from being hit by a car, including multiple pelvic fractures, sacrocaudal fracture and luxation, and a vertebral process fracture. Our vet also discovered that he had a low grade heart murmur.
Camp Cocker Rescue sought immediate emergency treatment for Petey’s injuries, which consisted of a left ilial body fracture repair. After several weeks of pain management and strict rest so that he could heal, Petey could finally have some freedom to be a puppy.
His adopter has named him Sheldon and says he is a happy pup who likes to follow her around everywhere. Though he is still a little timid with new things and people, Sheldon gets along with everyone as long as they don't come on too strong. He loves to play hard and then sleep hard!
