Pia’s Story:

This gorgeous lady was one of our Freedom Flyers from South Korea in September 2019. Rescued at about 6 years of age, Pia loves to run and play, is very curious, and loves the outdoors. She is also super sweet and oh-so-cuddly. This girl has it all!

Unfortunately, Pia had some permanent neurological damage done to her spinal cord (possibly from a past trauma) and is partially incontinent. She walks and runs, but the nerve damage has taken away her ability to know when she needs to potty. Camp Cocker had an MRI done to determine if Pia’s condition could be addressed medically, but sadly, it cannot. Pia is both fecally and urinary incontinent for life. We suspect that Pia was a puppy mill mommy dog and perhaps lived her entire life hunched over in a cage.

Pia has diapers to wear indoors, but because of her potty issues it took quite some time to find just the right home for her. Her adopters are super supportive and weren’t about to let Pia’s condition sway them from making her their princess. They have lots of experience with special needs Cocker Spaniels and fell in love with Pia immediately.

Pia now goes by Mia, and her family is overjoyed to have this affectionate girl in their lives. Even her new Cocker Spaniel brother, Nigel, is quite smitten with her. They enjoy long walks together, and Mia is having the time of her life exploring her huge new backyard! It is the perfect fairytale ending.
