Scooby
Adopted MAY 2020!
Scooby’s Story:
At 5 to 7 years old, this sweet Cocker Spaniel joined Camp Cocker in June 2019 after we’d rescued him from the Carson Animal Shelter. He had been relinquished there by his owner because of his many infections. Scooby had to have exploratory surgery on two of his paws due to abcesses and fox tails, a dental with extractions, treatment for two badly infected ears, bad skin, and removal and biopsy of an ulcerated chest mass. He was also filthy and required a shave down to get rid of his matted hair and to get a better look at his underlying skin issues. This poor guy. Scooby is incredibly loving and 100% a lapdog who loves to snuggle and give kisses!
Scooby is now a healthy fella, but still struggles with some chronic dry eye. His new mom shares that he is doing wonderfully and seems like a very happy boy! He is obsessed with his stuffie toy Whaley and carries it around trying to find the perfect hiding place for it. His mom will find it hidden all over the house: behind the sofa, behind curtains, in her closet under shoes, etc. Sometimes as she’s getting ready for bed (with him at her side of course), she’ll even find Whaley on her pillow, like Scooby is sharing his most precious possession with her. What a sweetheart.
Tragically, Scooby crossed over the Rainbow Bridge when his heart unexpectedly stopped shortly after waking from orthopedic surgery. Although devastated by his loss, Scooby’s mom is grateful for the years she shared with him at her side 24/7 through the pandemic. While gone too soon, his story has a happy ending in his forever home.
We love you always, Scooby!
