Spa is a beautiful Cocker Spaniel boy, estimated* to be between 5 and 8 years old. and he weighs 31 pounds.
He is people-friendly and dog-friendly..
He likes to play with toys & is good with other dogs.
Spa is sweet, loving. playful.
Spa is a quiet dog, not prone to much barking.
His rescuers from Mongolia tell us that Spa will make a great pet!
Spa is currently located in the Los Angeles region.

The owner of UB Shelter, Sanaa, found Spa in 2018. Spa was a stray hanging out near a supermarket on the west side of Ulaanbaatar, and it was clear from his dirty, unkempt appearance that he’d been a stray for a long time. It was nighttime, and Sanaa caught the ‘dirty mop’ and placed him in a cardboard box.
Although Spa wasn't sure if he could trust people when we first met him, over time, and with a lot of love, Spa’s personality changed completely! He became one of Sanaa’s favorites, and he seeks out petting and snuggles from strangers. Spa loves to stick his butt in the air and get scratches."
Spa was adopted once from UB Shelter and lived for a long time with a family. However, when the father got a new job and the family had to move, they gave Spa back to the shelter. They said they intended to return for him, and asked after him from time to time, but eventually dropped contact and never returned.
Spa is a friendly dude and would make a great pet. He likes to play with toys and he’s good with dogs, having lived among 90 other dogs without issue. He is particularly close to Tsembii, another UB Shelter spaniel.

3/15/23 - SPA IS EXCITED ABOUT TREATS!
Camp Cocker has committed to taking in seven cocker spaniels & cocker mixes from Mongolia
The process is quite extensive because Mongolia is on the list of countries that the C.D.C. has on a watch list for rabies. So each dog must go through a lengthy process in order to get approved to enter the U.S.
It can take up to five months to get permission, after two rabies vaccines, a blood draw, a titer test and lots of paperwork.
We at Camp Cocker Rescue believe that compassion has no borders and just because Spa happened to be born into a situation where his options were limited, doesn't mean he isn't worth being rescued.
Thank you for having a heart for dogs like Spa. It means so much to us to be able to say “yes” to a shelter dog in need - no matter where that shelter is located.
