Suzy

Adopted JULY 2019!

Suzy’s Story:

In May 2019, sweetie-pie Suzy was rescued from the North Central/Los Angeles city animal shelter after she’d been hit by a car. Sadly, the fractures to her left arm were so splintered and severe that the surgeon said an amputation was the only choice. Suzy Q had the amputation and very quickly adapted to being a tripod. It doesn't slow her down at all! She runs and plays and goes up and down stairs. It's remarkable that she bounced back so quickly and is so at ease with her new normal. Her foster family even said that the 2-3 year old Tibetan Spaniel was sure-footed and would be an excellent candidate for agility, despite being short a leg.

This cute wigglebutt is now living her best life ever and her new name is Penny! Her parents absolutely adore her and say she is the best doggie ever. Penny loves to sleep in her dog tent all day and in then get into bed with her parents at night. She takes several walks a day to keep her healthy and fit, and she absolutely loves belly rubs! Penny would let you pet her all day long; she even gets belly rubs from neighbors and friends! She loves to eat chewy treats and howls and barks excitedly to let everyone in the building know when it’s treat time. Suzy loves car rides and going on adventures with her family. Her favorite place to visit is the dog beach in Santa Barbara where she can run in the sand and meet new friends. She also likes to roll in the grass and play with other little dogs in the neighborhood. Suzy has the best manners; although, she likes to eat the occasional snail.

We are so grateful when adopters see beyond the imperfections to adopt an amazing dog.
