Teddy Bear
Adopted APRIL 2023!
Teddy Bear’s Story:
Adorable 18-month-old Teddy was relinquished to Camp Cocker Rescue in April 2020 after his previous owner realized that she just didn't have the time to give him his very best life. Puppies are a lot of work and have higher exercise, training, and socialization requirements than their older counterparts. It was surely a very difficult decision for her to part with him, but we’re grateful that she came to us to help Teddy Bear find a more suitable home for his needs. Being such a young dog, he has lots of energy and loves to run and play. He’s a very friendly boy and loves all people, adults and children alike. Teddy Bear is smart, too, and had successfully completed basic obedience classes prior to joining Camp Cocker.
Teddy Bear’s adopters were very excited to welcome this cutie into their home in Arizona and drove several hours to pick him up in Los Angeles, CA. He and his mom take lots of walks throughout the day and she is even considering signing him up for agility training! Teddy Bear needs to lose quite a few pounds to get to a healthy weight, which his family will be helping him to accomplish by providing proper nutrition and exercise. Prior to adoption, his new mom did lots of research on finding the best fresh food diet, as well as a good, force-free dog trainer. They’ll be starting classes together in a few weeks and, in the meantime, are working on some basic skills at home. Teddy Bear will also be learning how to swim in their swimming pool!
Teddy Bear likes to sleep on the furniture and enjoys sitting up high where he can keep an eye on everyone. He especially enjoys being on people’s laps. He loves playing with his toys and his parents tell us he’s quite a little ham for the camera! He really likes other dogs and they surprised Teddy with a new brother, named Joker, whom they adopted from another rescue that same morning. The two dogs have been enjoying getting acquainted and exploring their new home and yard together. Teddy’s extremely chatty with the other dogs in the neighborhood, too, and is the first to greet everyone with his loud bark outside!
From Teddy’s adopters: “He’s a bunch of fun to have around!”
