Tikki

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2020!

Tikki’s Story:

Tikki was rescued by Camp Cocker in February 2020. His former owners had sold their house and moved away, leaving him behind. The new family that moved in tried their best to keep Tikki and make him a part of their family, but the woman in the home had severe allergies to Tikki. She’d tried everything, going to an allergist, keeping him bathed frequently and groomed regularly, but if she even touched Tikki her arms would break out in hives. It was really sad but relinquishing him to Camp Cocker was the kinder thing to do than giving him away to any unscreened adopter or taking him to a shelter. Tikki is a sweet senior fella who is hearing impaired and has some vision loss in one eye.

Now named Eliot (after TS Eliot), his mom says he is quite the little "dude". Even though he's 12 years old, blind in one eye and deaf in both ears, he’s actually managed to get up on the kitchen table to enjoy a bowl of peanuts, eat a whole sleeve of blueberry bagels, some hot dog buns, and open the treat jar and consume 1/2 of the dog treats. He's training his family quite well! Sometimes he races outside, jumps up on his back feet and barks just for the fun of it. He also likes to run into the living room, leap into one of his beds and roll around and around. He really likes his beds. He’s a very smart guy and he keeps his family laughing. Eliot enjoys sleeping next to his dog sister, Edith (named after Edith Wharton) when she’ll let him.

From Eliot’s adopter: “We adore him!!!”
