Winter

Adopted MARCH 2024!

Winter’s Story:

This very special girl was rescued from SEAACA animal shelter in Downey, CA in January 2024. Estimated to be less than a year old, she is a very sweet and affectionate 18 pound cocker spaniel mix. Winter is blind in both eyes, as well as being deaf, which are likely the result of the congenital defect of a double-merle gene. This gene is inherited from the unfortunate mating of two Blue Merles. Despite her inability to see or hear, Winter is an active, playful puppy with lots of fun puppy energy!

Now named Sugar, this angel is navigating her new home incredibly well and even figured out how to go up and down the stairs on her first day there. She is having an absolute blast playing with her new cocker spaniel brother, Flash, and their mom tells us that she is TOTALLY holding her own. She pounces on Flash and they roll around and wrestle like crazy. They’re always exhausted from running around the backyard together. It’s so cute!
