Wonka
Adopted NOVEMBER 2020!
Wonka’s Story:
In October 2020, this sweet girl (along with five other Terrier mix puppies between 5 - 6 months of age) made the long journey from South Korea to Los Angeles, CA as part of our Freedom Flight Rescue program. Wonka, like her travel companions, had been well-socialized by her rescuers in Korea and quickly made friends with everyone she met! She is a snuggly little puppy, eager to occupy any available lap, and she absolutely loves playing with other dogs.
We’d noticed that Wonka was favoring her back left leg when she walked, and after several x-rays and a consultation with a board certified surgeon, she was diagnosed with a bone deformity causing a grade 4 luxating patella. Because she is still growing, Wonka will need to wait until she reaches one year of age to have the corrective surgery. This is a very costly procedure, but she is so worth it. Wonka loves to run and play and we want her to be able to do that comfortably.
Her new family has named her Daisy, and it was love at first sight. She has two very excited children in her home to play with, as well as a Terrier sister (also a rescue!) named Billie, whom she is having a blast getting to know. Daisy loves to explore her big backyard and get lots of cuddles from her loving adopters. She quickly found her favorite spot on their couch, and her mom reports that she is simply sweet as pie!
From Daisy’s parents: “We feel so blessed that she had joined our family! The love is so deep already.”
